Who is Dress Up for Downs?
Founded by Sarah Petit, Dress Up for Downs is a student organization at Kent State University aiming to bridge the gap between fashion and individuals with Down syndrome. With the help of our talented members, we design and sew custom garments for those in the Down syndrome community. Each individual with Down syndrome becomes a model and gets to display their design in a fashion show. Every model we support leaves with not only a one-of-a-kind garment, but friendships and connections for a lifetime.
We are here to show you there are no limits to who can walk a runway.
Our Models
We support Down syndrome individuals of any gender, age, size or ethnicity. Our models are the reason we continue to thrive and grow as an organization.
Our Vision
We bring together students and members from all backgrounds in order to provide our models with an enriching fashion experience. We hope to bring Kent State University closer to the Down syndrome community and create a safe space for families to learn and grow.
